What a great website. I will check it often.

    Hello,

I have tried your castile soap recipe at home. Everything went fine except that the colour of the soap was beige to yellowish in contrast to what’s shown in your video. I want whitish soap. Any advise?

    Thanks

    Usman

      Usman,

If you use virgin olive oil it will have a darker color and even smell a bit like olives when you use it. I have been using the cheap refined olive oil for this recipe, and that is how it comes out so light.

      Hope this helps,

      Karl

    Hi. What a great site.
Thank you for the castile soap recipe. Do you have a recipe for natural shampoo?
I have been buying a great shampoo made by a local chemist. I would love to be able to make it myself.
It’s creamy in color and has to be kept in the refrigerator. Any thoughts on how I can make it?
    Thank you
    Sandy

      Sandy,

“Natural” can mean hundreds of things. I’m not sure what is in the soap that you are buying from your “local chemist”, but I would guess that it probably has natural aloe in it because it must be refrigerated. Beyond that, I don’t know what to tell you. Best of luck.

      Karl
